Gift of Love
LOVE TOUCHES EVERYONE...BOTH THOSE WHO GIVE AS WELL AS THOSE WHO RECEIVE. For 28 years, FSB has been able to touch the lives of many in the Panhandle through our “GIFT OF LOVE” Program. TREE OF NAMES Please come in, pick a name from our TREE OF NAMES and purchase a new Christmas gift for a local child and return unwrapped to FSB before Dec. 9. Our request is that you purchase one or more of the wish list items the child requested and the items must be new. COATS FOR KIDS We are collecting gently used and new kids coats until December 9th at the following locations: First State Bank, Scottsbluff and Gering, Coop Plaza Foods, Family Thrift Center, Safeway, Calvary Memorial Church in Gering, Minatare High School, Minatare Elementary School and Minatare Prairie Sky Foods. If you are in need of a coat, signup sheets are on each box at the drop off locations. Please no adult coats or clothing. Non-Perishable Food Drive Displays Local schools are currently collecting nonperishable food items for our non-perishable food drive. Our request is that the non-perishable food displays show the schools Christmas Spirit for Giving, for example a Christmas tree or build a replica of your school building. We will have two divisions for the competition: Elementary School and Jr/Middle/High School. Prizes include 1st $150, 2nd $100 and 3rd $50 to be given to the schools booster club. First State Bank, National Guard, Santa and his helpers will then pick up and reward the students with a school assembly or a visit to each classroom prior to December 12th. The nonperishable foods help fill local pantries and each family receives a complete Christmas meal basket to go along with their children’s gifts. If individuals would like to make a cash donation to GIFT OF LOVE, those funds are used to purchase turkeys or hams for the families. We do not take any non-perishable food items prior to the 12th at First State Bank locations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. TRUCK FULL OF LOVE On Saturday, December 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. we will be filling the Nebraska Transport Truck with new and gently used toys, the Lakota Lutheran Van with new and gently used coats, the National Guard Hummer with Non-Perishable Foods and cash donations for our Truck Full of Love. ALL DONATIONS STAY IN THE VALLEY! Your efforts and support are greatly appreciated and you make this program an annual success. First State Bank wishes you the best this holiday season and always. |
